What CBD Oil to Buy?
If you are just starting your CBD journey (and if you are, Hi! Welcome to the revolution) then the first (and arguably most important) question you may have is what CBD oil do I buy?
As you have probably guessed, there is no easy answer to this question. To be honest, if there was one oil that was better than all the rest, it’d be the only one we sold!
But that doesn’t mean we can’t help you find the right CBD oil. Everybody is different, and will react in different ways to CBD oil, so you may have to try a few before you find what fits you.
But let’s take the time to look at a few things to be aware of before you embark on the purchase of your first oil, and try and make the trial and error process a little quicker for you.
What is CBD Oil?
Let’s start with the basics, what exactly is CBD oil? It seems like everyone is talking about it, but not everybody seems to be completely sure what it is, so allow us to help.
CBD stands for cannabidiol, which is a phytocannabinoid, meaning a cannabinoid that is found in plants, more specifically, cannabis plants.
CBD is often confused for THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) but the two are far from the same. Both are molecules are found in the cannabis plant, but THC is a psychoactive cannabinoid (one that gets you high) and is found mainly in marijuana plants.
CBD, on the other hand, does not have psychoactive properties and is found in smaller amounts in marijuana plants, it is in industrial hemp plants that CBD is found in higher levels (and conversely, less THC is present).
CBD oil is extracted from industrial hemp plants, and that’s how it gets into the products you find on our pages.
How does CBD Work?
CBD interacts with the endocannabinoids that occur naturally in the human body. This endocannabinoid system helps to control various functions including (but not limited to) fertility and pain, and it is for this reason that many believe that CBD can have positive health effects.
We are not here to tell you if it does, but there are various scientific studies that you can find online that will give you information on this.
Starting Out with CBD Oil
When you first take CBD oil, it is worth taking things slowly. As mentioned above, everybody reacts different, so what is right for somebody else might not be right for you.
When it comes to tolerance, there is no point in testing yours, less is very much more when it comes to CBD.
For that reason, it’s worth starting with a low strength oil, something between 1% and 5% in strength, and seeing how you respond to it.
We suggest maybe trying this 4% Entourage Oil or these Fenugreek Drops at 3.3%. If you want to try something even lighter, consider this lovely 1.2% Coconut Oil.
See how this oil works for you, if you feel like you could go stronger, step up a little bit, to maybe this 7% version of the Entourage Spray, or this 12% spray from Pharmahemp if you want to go stronger still.
If you choose to keep going up, you will find products of increasing strength on our sales pages, but remember, when you have found the product that feels right for you, whether it’s 1.2%, or much higher, stop there.
There is nothing to be proven or gained by pushing yourself further than you need to, and there is no suggestion that CBD tolerance builds up over time, so when you find the right product to suit your needs, you should be able to stick with it.
Not All CBD is Created Equal
At this point, although we hope that will change, CBD is not regulated much, which basically means you don’t always know what you’re getting. Which means asking the question, “Which is the right CBD Oil to Buy”, isn’t always easily answered.
If you don’t use a trusted and reliable supplier for your CBD products, you may find that you end up with a CBD oil that is of much lower quality than you have the right to expect.
These oils may not have the strength stated on the packaging, or, in some cases, may not contain any CBD at all, so be sure that you are always buying your CBD from somewhere you can trust.
If you have any questions about the CBD oils we sell or any questions about CBD oil in question, do not hesitate to ask us, we’ll be happy to chat with you and in turn, we hope we’ve answered the question, “What CBD Oil to Buy?”
