CBD and Coffee
CBD and coffee, If something is trendy for long enough, someone will undoubtedly end up mixing it with coffee.
To that end, CBD and coffee are becoming a favourite combination for many people (not just the hipster community, but also, a lot in the hipster community).
But what exactly happens when you mix coffee with CBD, and is it advisable to do it?
As with anything even vaguely mind or body altering, it’s worth knowing whether it is sensible, and indeed safe to mix it with CBD, and caffeine is no different.
Is it Safe to Mix CBD and Coffee?
The jury is still out a little on the answer to this question. Not because CBD has been proven to be dangerous when mixed with coffee (there is nothing to suggest that at this point) but more because the science is still catching up.
Until recently, CBD was often lumped in with all other cannabis products, especially in the USA, and it is only since the 2018 Farm Bill that this has changed.
As a result, there is still limited research into the effects of CBD and caffeine together.
Negative opinions of combining the two have grown since food and drink outlets in the USA were banned from serving CBD edibles due to the cannabinoid being considered less safe than regular food additives.
However, there have been scientific studies which suggest there may be positives from combining the two.
There are firmly two camps when it comes to safety, but what we can say with surety is there is, at this point, nothing that directly states any risks or dangers that come from combining caffeine products of any kind, coffee included, with CBD.
Does Heat Affect Dosage?
This will be a short bit. Basically, we have no idea.
It is possible, and has been suggested, and this is something worth being aware of. If you are new to CBD products, it’s important to start with small doses, and as we don’t know for sure that heating CBD doesn’t make the dose a little stronger, it’s worth avoiding it, until you are used to CBD and understand your limits.
What is CBD Coffee and What Does it Do?
In short, CBD coffee is coffee with CBD in it. It sounds simple, because it is.
If you do fancy trying CBD coffee, you are probably aware that doing so is not a challenge. Regardless of the questions around laws in the USA and the EU, there are coffee shops in many places that offer CBD infused coffees.
While science cannot state for sure at this point what CBD coffee does to the body or mind, there is a great deal of anecdotal evidence that gives accounts of people’s experiences with CBD and coffee.
It is important to remember a few things when dealing with anecdotal evidence. Firstly, don’t take anything as fact, it is one person’s account, and is often produced with a certain narrative or outcome in mind.
Secondly, there are a lot of contradicting accounts when it comes to CBD coffee, so don’t just assume the first one you find will be the same as all the others.
Finally, remember that even if the account you are reading is 100% genuine, your experience might be completely different. People react to CBD products in different ways, so just because someone feels something specific when they drink CBD coffee, doesn’t mean you will feel the same effect.
Growing Trend
One thing we know for sure, is that CBD coffee is trendy as hell right now, and that doesn’t look to be changing any time soon.
As a result, you can be pretty sure that, unless a stop is put to it, CBD coffee will become increasingly available. Even if it is ultimately stopped in cafes, there is not currently anything stopping you choosing to mix your own. We’re not here to tell you how to consume your CBD, but we’d love to hear from you about it.
